Within the scope of the Transportation Expenses Support Program implemented by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the information regarding the program prepared for 2025 is as follows:
Purpose and Scope of the Program
This support program covers students who are Turkish citizens and who are continuing their primary, secondary, or higher education in a province within Turkey, but not in their families, and whose households are identified by the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations as falling under Law No. 3294 on the Promotion of Social Assistance and Solidarity. Support is provided to students who are receiving their primary, secondary, or higher education in a province different from their families.
The program aims to cover the transportation expenses of children of families determined by the Foundations to be within the scope of the Law on Encouraging Social Assistance and Solidarity, for their travels to and from their families.
The support is valid for a total of four one-way tickets per year for students and is applied regardless of the type of vehicle used (road, air, sea, rail).
Application and Evaluation Process
It is important for students to obtain their residence permit in the same location as their dormitory and house. Students who relocate from Battalgazi Municipality or Yeşilyurt Municipality to Malatya must apply for transportation support from the District Governor's Office . Applications must be submitted within 15 days of the travel date. Foundations may request a ticket, ID card, and student certificate issued in the student's name.
Applications are evaluated and decided by the Foundation's Board of Trustees within 30 days at the latest.
New Upper Limit and Payment Principles
As of January 1, 2025, the upper limit for one-way tickets has been set at 1,900 TL. This amount is subject to revision by the Ministry of Family and Social Services. If the ticket amount is less than the specified upper limit, the full amount stated on the ticket will be paid. If the ticket amount is equal to or greater than the upper limit, the specified upper limit will be paid.
If the beneficiary is over 18, the payment will be made to their own bank account; if they are under 18, it will be made to their mother's bank account; otherwise, it will be made to their father's bank account. The amount will increase in 2026.
Who Cannot Apply?
Non-Turkish citizens, those studying with their families, and students studying outside of Turkey are not eligible for this support. Graduate/doctoral students or students over the age of 25 are also not eligible to apply for the support program.
